Ok, so first we built the board and batten. You don’t necessarily need that to create an enticing entry way but it was must-have for me, I really love a textured wall and think it truly makes the space more unique! My husband built it, if interested I will link his YouTube here (WoodNerds) for any DIYer’s out there.

Anyway, after the board and batten, it’s all fun from here! Decorating time!!! I’ll link below exactly what I used to create our warm little corner but definitely let your creativity flow and add whatever makes you feel at home. I always try to first shop for the small decorative pieces on Amazon, I love the affordability and the fact that you can easily return whatever doesn’t work. For any framed signs, big or small, I ALWAYS shop with Cherie Kay Signs. The signs are customizable to your room size and the options are endless! I could easily choose a sign for each room in my house in seconds, they are all so cute!! The quality is worth every penny!

For my entry way, I went with the 20in x 48in. The space above the board and batten is large, so I really wanted to fill it in to complete the look. Keep in mind when styling, a small sign can really throw off your whole look. So, depending on the area you are working with, definitely plan the sizing accordingly. If you are unsure and in-between sizes – my advice is to ALWAYS go a with the bigger option. I think it makes a statement and is the better alternative in my opinion. Otherwise, if you start to have too many smaller items, the area can start to look cluttered.

If you have been to my page before, you may have seen the Mudroom With Secret Drawers. It may be helpful to check that out too, you will see how we decorated similarly here and also used a Cherie Kay Sign. Our rooms are really beginning to flow! They have a certain look that align with one another, yet still each room is unique. I just love her whole entire store and absolutely plan to use more of her signs when we get to upgrading our living room next. I already have ideas and I cannot wait to share!! Stay tuned!

If this was helpful, please let me know below. Or, if you’d like certain information that wasn’t included, let me know too so I can add it!

If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! If you love decorating and DIY’ing as much as I do, check out our Mudroom with SECRET DRAWERS!! This was a game changer for me and such a great idea if you need/ want to store valuables!

xoxo,

Leah

What is the wall color and board and batten color?

Hi! The white color we used is one we have had lying around forever, Im so sorry I don’t have the name of it! Our walls are tan, so the white pops a little. Hope that helps!
